Companies are displayed on a map so that you can see what businesses are nearby, though admittedly Microsoft does have a few issues to sort out with its postcode finder. Also, the top results seem to constitute almost a random dispersal when you search for a company by area; it is not strictly the closest companies, nor the company with the most reviews, nor the company with the most qualifications, so at times it can be difficult to locate exactly what you want (We recommend either searching by service or application, or better, search Web Applications UK by name!
