Career Academy Success Story

In the latest Summer edition of the Career Academy magazine there is a great article relating to one of Web Applications UK’s mentees whom we are extremely proud of, Danny Callan. Danny recently won the student award at the Pro-Manchester professional innovation challenge, an award that was judged by Chris Morris of LateRooms.com and ‘i-teddy’ inventor Imran Hakim of Dragon’s Den fame.

Danny credits some of his success to the Career Academy saying it helped acclimatise him to what work would be like after college and improved his confidence with networking and speaking to future clients.

For years Web Applications UK has had an excellent relationship with the Career Academy in Oldham, whether it is taking on work experience students or staff members mentoring young people. Our recently promoted Training Manager Shaun Austin is currently Danny’s mentor at the Career Academy and hopes to see all of his mentees go on to greatness.

All of us at Web Applications UK wish Danny the greatest success in all of his future endeavours and hope that this is just the first of many of Danny's accomplishments and Career Academy achievements.

Danny's current venture is a Web and Graphic Design company called Ice Box Designs, serving Manchester and Oldham.  To find out more, visit his website at: www.iceboxdesigns.co.uk
